The inspiration for this installation arose from my personal experience grappling with social phobia during that period. The installation provided a metaphorical space where visitors could contemplate the anxieties associated with leaving the safety of one's shelter. Within the confines of the underground war shelter, where the installation took place, attendees observed the activities of the outside world while feeling acutely aware of being observed in return.
Through "Observatory," I aimed to create an environment that not only mirrored my personal feelings but also resonated with the universal human experience of fear. The installation juxtaposes the comfort of shelter with the unsettling gaze of others.
