01 JIZERA // AUDIOVISUAL INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION

J I Z E R A

is an audiovisual interactive installation that was part of the exhibition of the same name at the (A)void gallery in Prague in April 2024

The installation representing my walking pilgrimage from the spring of the river Jizera to its confluence with the river Elbe. This work covers three thematic lines: the authentic nature along the river’s flow, the post-industrial landscape with significant human interventions (manufacturing and factories), and references to local history and folklore.

These themes are present in the video composed of point clouds based on 3D scans of objects from the changing environment around the Jizera River. They are also represented in ten objects found along the journey, encased in transparent resin. These objects are equipped with light sources that interactively respond to heart rate data measured during the pilgrimage in the sections where the objects were found. The shape of the casts matches the stones pulled from the Jizera River.

The installation depicts the authentic natural environment along the Jizera River, expanded through projection into its digital reflection, while simultaneously creating a contrast between natural materials (minerals, water, soil, and wood) and synthetic objects such as synthetic resin and plexiglass.

H Y P H A

  - an essential building block of a mushroom that makes up the complex mycelium.

The audiovisual installation inspired by the intricate mycelium structure found in mushrooms. Situated near the České údolí water reservoir, first part of this installation incorporates a meteorological sensor that continuously collects air quality data.

These data points are then transformed into real-time digital images and sounds, reflecting the current state of the environment and the data sent to the second part of installation in real time where they creating their digital presentation.

The visual aspect of the installation comprises three primary components.

Firstly, it showcases 3D scans of mushrooms taken in close proximity to the meteorological sensor's placement.

Additionally, a dynamic digital image of the mycelium evolves in response to the ever-changing meteorological conditions along the reservoir's shoreline.

Lastly, a central structure acts as a repository, meticulously storing all the collected data and visually capturing the location's historical progression. Comparable to the organic nature of real mushrooms, this structure adapts to its surroundings, assimilating particles, altering its appearance, and effectively recording external events within its memory.

By visually representing the intricate network of mycelium and translating air quality data into immersive visuals and sounds, this audiovisual installation invites contemplation on the delicate balance between natural ecosystems and our impact on them.

03 MANCY SONO // BAND VISUAL IDENTITY // AV

(CURRENTLY IN PROCESS)

Mancy Sono

is an alternative rock band based in Prague, known for their unique blend of noise and ambient elements that create soundscapes ans sound stories. Their music can be experienced and on their Bandcamp page.

My collaboration with Mancy Sono centers around their latest album, titled sonder/ajzn*. As part of this project, I have contributed visually through the creation of graphic materials, including the LP cover, tape cover, and logotype. Additionally, I have developed a video content specifically designed for the upcoming release party of sonder/ajzn*, where it will accompany a live performance as visuals.

The visual aspects of this collaboration draw inspiration from the emotions of solitude and endless exploration within the depths of a dark forest. In this realm, time slows down, and the perception of objects becomes relative. The visuals for Mancy Sono were crafted using 3D scans captured amidst the wet autumn forest of Kokořínsko, located in the northern region of Bohemia.

*Noun. sonder (uncountable) (neologism) – The profound feeling of realizing that everyone, including strangers passing in the street, has a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it.

offers an introspective journey, presenting a solitary dream-like experience that reflects emotions evoked by the desert landscapes. This audiovisual virtual reality  project incorporates 3D scans of natural objects and landscapes sourced from the Israeli deserts, specifically the Negev and El-Baryah regions. These locations, including The Red Canyon, Metsada, Ein Gedi, and Mitzpe Ramon, serve as the backdrop for this exploration.

Within MIDBAR, participants embark on a deeply personal experience through 15 distinct levels, each dedicated to a different desert environment. As players wander through these landscapes, they encounter predominantly nocturnal desert creatures such as bats, caracals, frogs, and camels represented by their voices from the far.

The project was created in collaboration with Michal Koška during an internship at the Holon Institute of Technology in Israel.

05 TRACEY & DAVID // SHORT MOVIE

H O W  T R A C E Y  M E T  D A V I D

A short movie about Tracey Emin and David Bowie is a visual representation of one episode from BBC podcast series “This Cultural Life” - the interview with Tracey Emin in which he describes her artistic career and also her personal life as well as how she met her close friend David Bowie for the first time which is the part of the podcast I choose to describe visually.

This project was created as part of an internship at Holon Institute of Technology in Israel and the goal was to find an understandable and original way of storytelling.

is a short animated film that brings to life an episode from BBC podcast series, "This Cultural Life." Centered around an interview with renowned artist Tracey Emin, the film delves into her artistic journey and personal experiences, with a particular focus on her first encounter with the iconic David Bowie. Drawing inspiration from this specific segment of the podcast, my aim was to visually narrate this meeting, providing a unique and accessible storytelling experience.

This project was developed as part of my internship at the Holon Institute of Technology in Israel. Throughout its creation, the primary objective was to craft a visually compelling and relatable narrative based on Tracey Emin's story and translate it into visuals.

06 IO // SHORT MOVIE

a short film also known as "1 0", serves as a prelude to an upcoming art installation and performance. This collaborative project was brought to life through a partnership with director and Director of Photography, Jáchym Kachlík.

within this endeavor, my role encompassed the creation of motion graphics and special effects, programming interactive elements for the installation, consulting on the project's conceptualization, as well as offering assistance in crafting the script. Additionally, a part of the film was captured using a high-speed camera, the Phantom, with the resulting footage seamlessly integrated into the background of the motion graphics.

At the heart of this collaborative venture lies a thought-provoking exploration of the unwarranted use of personal data in today's internet and social media-driven era.
